New interactive app called "HealthKit" is believed to revolutionize how the health industry interacts with people

With the release of iOS 8 SDK comes over 4,000 new APIs, one of which includes an app, in collaboration with Mayo Clinic, called "HealthKit." This application (app) will provide the user, with permission, the ability for their health and fitness apps to communicate with each other.
What does this mean?
HealthKit will pull date from third-party apps like FitBit, Nike and the Mayo Clinic, integrating your healthcare data (such as your blood pressure and oxygen levels) and sharing it with your doctor to provide high-quality guidance and care.
"We believe Apple's HealthKit will revolutionize how the health industry interacts with people," said John Noseworthy, M.D., Mayo Clinic president and CEO. "We are proud to be at the forefront of this innovative technology with the Mayo Clinic app."
